As the INCI stipulates that the ingredients in a cosmetic product’s formula must be listed according to the percentage they represent of the total, starting with the largest.
We shall define the categories of ingredient we have chosen according to the components that comprise cosmetics products nowadays.
Fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients are incomparably more effective and healthy than any other type of ingredient. At Nhuara Baret we are committed to the natural approach and our star ingredient, Aloe arborescens, is fresh.
Natural oils: These oils are extracted directly from the seeds of the fruits taken from the plants. At Nhuara Baret we are able to obtain oils of the highest quality, thanks to our association with a laboratory that utilises the most advanced technology in the extraction process.
Natural origin: This refers to all those ingredients of natural origin that are not natural oils, as their quality and effectiveness are very different. Any plant extract can be of “natural origin”, but the beneficial properties of natural oils are far greater.
Healthy chemicals: Thanks to biotechnology, today it is possible to produce chemically synthesised substances that are beneficial to our health and provide hydrating, regenerative, anti-inflammatory and other effects.
Neutral chemicals: This is the name we have given to those artificial substances that offer us very little or no beneficial effect, but are nonetheless necessary in order to add longer life, consistency, aroma or colour to the end product.
For Nhuara Baret it is vital that these necessary substances do not cause harm to the body, regardless of what it might cost to achieve this.
Petroleum derivatives: Also known as “mineral oils”, these compounds are extensively used in traditional cosmetics as “hydrating” products. They are very stable, easy to extract and very cheap. They offer a fine, silky texture when applied to the skin, leaving it soft and with a feeling of having been highly moisturised. However, the reality is very different: rather than moisturise, these minerals create a film of oil that blocks the pores, impeding transpiration and dehydrating the skin.
You will NEVER find a compound of this type in the products offered by Nhuara Baret.
Toxic chemicals: Exhaustive studies have shown that the cosmetics industry uses a great number of harmful chemical substances. These can have a terrible impact, causing conditions such as allergies, irritation, eczema, acne, dermatitis and even – in the long-term – cancer. As we mentioned earlier, certain chemical substances are necessary in order to achieve a pleasant texture, aroma and colour, and to give the product a longer life; however, problems arise when companies use these toxic chemicals instead of healthier alternatives in order to lower costs and produce a mass-market product that gives them a greater profit margin.
At Nhuara Baret our clients’ health and wellbeing is more important to us than increasing our profits. For this reason, we do not use any substances of this type whatsoever.
Essential oils: These are mixtures of various chemical substances that have been biosynthesised by plants, and provide an aroma that is characteristic of certain flowers, trees, fruits, etc. They are intensely aromatic chemical products. However, they are also substances of a potentially toxic nature, depending on the amounts used and each person’s level of tolerance. For this reason they cannot be compared to natural oils, whose properties are more beneficial and present no risk of adverse effects.
When it comes to our clients’ health, at Nhuara Baret we do not take ANY risks.
Animal origin: There is a great deal of variety within these types of ingredients, which makes them difficult to classify; however, practically all of these ingredients can be replaced by an alternative of plant or synthetic origin that provides the same effect. This helps to prevent excessive hunting or fishing of the animals in question, as is the case with “SQUALANE” (a substance obtained from shark liver), which requires 3,000 sharks in order to produce just one tonne of product. For this reason, at Nhuara Baret we do not use these types of ingredients.
Our brand respects and admires nature; it has enabled us to become who we are.

Leading experts from the world of cosmetics have affirmed that a healthy cosmetic product should not contain more than 40 or 50 ingredients. This is due to the fact that sometimes, certain products that contain toxic chemicals need other substances that “conceal” the adverse effects of these chemicals; e.g. blocking the skin’s capacity to manifest an allergic reaction.
At Nhuara Baret we use high-quality ingredients that do not cause adverse effects, and as a result we reject this method of obtaining an acceptable product.
In conclusion, this document summarises the main differences between Nhuara Baret and our competitors. We are constantly striving to offer our clients the very best.
